Nomadic Market Tour
Interested in experiencing an authentic Turkish Nomadic Market in Eğirdir? Observe the traders haggling and selling fresh goods, such as fruits, vegetables, olives, cheese, dry fruits and much more
In the region of Eğirdir, every Sunday morning starting from the beginning of August to the end of October, you will have the unique possibility to experience these authentic nomadic markets - the so-called Pinar Markets.
If you like we can organize a tour, that will allow you to understand more about both local goods, food and the culture of the nomadic people and local farmers. The Pinar Markets are full of life and the fresh smells and flavors of traditional goods being sold there.
On a tour, we will leave the hostel around 11 a.m. and travel by bus to our family´s orchard where we will then walk through untouched orchard fields, sample fresh fruits from the tree and experience the livelihood of local farmers and nomads.
Arriving at the market at around 12.45 pm, you will have the chance to explore the market, purchase local goods, try local food and see with your own eyes how nomadic people trade. At around 14.15 pm we will finish the trip with a relaxed tea in a traditional Turkish tea house.
If you want to join the tour, please let us know the evening before so we can do the necessary arrangements.
Surrounded by a turquoise blue lake and ringed by snow capped mountains, this cozy little town is a perfect place to relax, eat fresh fish, go hiking & cycling and get away from it all
