Bicycle tours- and rentals

The limestone mountains circling the beautiful highland lakes of Eğirdir and Beyşehir are a western extension of the mighty Taurus range. This area provides ample opportunity for cyclists of all abilities to explore mountains, valleys and villages. 

At our pension you can rent modern mountain bikes to explore the beautiful surroundings of Eğirdir by bike. Doing so, you will get to know and enjoy scenery and people of Eğirdir even more intense then just passing it by car or bus. 

Some of our favorite cycling-trips are: 

Eğirdir- Çayköy - Eğirdir (24 km)

A relaxed ride to the village of Çayköy and back to the Lake Eğirdir. You will see many apple trees and can stop by a typical Turkish teahouse to relax and sip tea with the locals.

 
 Eğirdir – Kovada National Park – Eğirdir (48 km)

Our favorite trip! A day trip with beautiful landscape that takes you to the heart of Kovada National Park where you can explore the park and enjoy a delicious picnic at the lake.
 

Aksu & Zindan Dripstone Cave (ca. 60 km)

A ride through the mountains, past nomadic families and the ringing bell of goats to the town of Aksu and onwards to Zindan Cave. This cave is 1.200m long and has beautiful stalactites. Attention: the cave is closed on Mondays.

 
Barla Village (ca. 56 km)

A beautiful ride along the shore of Eğirdir Lake with constant views to the snowcapped mountains. The final destination of the trip is Barla, a cute old village, with some traditional wooden houses and a relaxed atmosphere.

 
Çandır Canyon National Park (64 km – one way!)

A beautiful ride with historical significance takes you to Çandır Canyon National Park, passing both Kovada National Park and ancient trading routes and castle ruins. Since it is a long ride from Eğirdir, you need to have a transport back to town or stay overnight in a pension or with your tent in Çandır

 
Please note: Doing these cycling-trips in a self-guided way is possible. However, if you wish, we can organize guided cycling tours for you as well! Also, if you would like to have any transport with your bike, for example to come back with your bike to Eğirdir, let us know the evening before, so we can make the necessary arrangements for you!
